As an agency of the Australian Government, the Harbour Trust has an obligation under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to ensure online information and services are accessible by people with disabilities. We are also required to make online information and services accessible to people with technical constraints, such as older browsers and lower speed Internet connections.
WCAG 2.0 compliance
Our two affiliated websites – harbourtrust.gov.au and cockatooisland.gov.au – are compliant with Level A of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0). WCAG 2.0 is a technical standard developed under the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Our two websites have been developed to display adequately on all commonly used browsers and to work effectively with accessibility hardware and/or software. Although they are designed for a 1024 x 768 screen resolution, harbourtrust.gov.au and cockatooisland.gov.au will scale to both higher and lower screen resolutions.
