Owing to their ongoing advocacy work and active participation in our public consultation processes, advisory committees and volunteer program, members of the community contribute enormously to our vision of creating extraordinary places on the world’s best harbour that are inspiring, loved and shared.
For community news and updates, including opportunities to comment on draft plans and proposals, engage with our Board of Trustees, become a volunteer or join one of our Community Advisory Committees, continue to check our noticeboard.
Our public comment and exhibition periods, advisory committees and online feedback form are some of the channels through which we consult with the public.
We regularly seek the views of local communities, special interest groups and visitors to ensure community expectations around the use of our lands are met. This involves making draft plans and proposals available for public comment and exhibition. Find out what is currently available for public comment.
The volunteer members of the Harbour Trust’s Community Advisory Committees (CAC) meet with us as required to share advice and recommendations on the use of our lands. We are also collaborating with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group on the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan.
Public feedback helps us to not only improve our services but also protect, maintain and enhance the amenity of our lands. To provide feedback, including suggestions, comments, compliments and complaints, head to our Contact us webpage.
In carrying out major capital works on our lands, we are mindful of community expectations and commit to satisfying the vision, core values, objectives and policies outlined in our Comprehensive Plan and site-specific Management Plans. Find out what major works are currently underway.
From greeting visitors and facilitating history tours through to presenting community talks and maintaining the heritage value and beauty of our sites, our volunteers play a vital role in the Harbour Trust’s endeavours. Find out how you can get involved in our volunteer program.
